Sometimes, the grass is actually greener on the other side

Sometimes the grass is actually greener on the other side.

we live in a try harder culture.

whether it is a career we have fallen into,

a relationship that feels misaligned with our morals,

a friendship we have outgrown,

or an educational course we have committed to,

we are told if we just put in a bit more effort, sacrifice a little more of ourselves then we will get there. so just hang on in there, and it will be great,

"because the bigger the sacrifice, the bigger the success" ... isn't that right?

in all areas of our life, effort, commitment, dedication are all so important.

but sometimes somethings are just not meant for us.

and that's okay.

sometimes we spend so much time + energy watering grass that just won't grow that we miss out on all the other fields around us.

this "never give up" mentality can be damaging + toxic.

it is okay to say "this is not for me" and walk away.
